Today I've kinda been thinking about how relationships with your best friends are.  What sets them apart from an acquaintance?  I've made a couple of lists of things that I would say define a best friend...

I will.

You don't need to...

• Impress or show off to them
• flatter them
• start conversations with them with small talk
• make detailed arrangements of what you're going to do when you hang out
• make plans
• act differently around them
• make a conscious effort to make them laugh

You do need to...

• listen to them
• always be ready to help them when they struggle
• understand them
• be sincere with them
• have fun with them
• smile with them
• motivate them
• correct them
• refrain from talking behind their back
• respect them
• stand up for them

All of this is basically how I would define a best friend. Who do you call your best friends?  Are they really your best friends, or do you think they are?  Do some of your acquaintances consider you to be their best friend? 

My best friends are even better then Pikachu!

 I'm so glad that I have such good friends. I'm lucky.
