Cute Kids.

So today I was helping with my friends Eagle project at the elementary school and I had the job of sitting at a desk and telling people what they needed to do n' such. For the project, kid's parents had to fill our some information about them, like they birthday day, address, hair color etc. etc. I found it interesting how some parents had to actually stop and ask the kids what their birthday was and how others flew right through the form without any hesitation. They only took the time to read what the form required and the rest was automatic. I would like to give those people high fives. As for the others, there is a lot of room for improvement. I don't know them personally, but based on what I can guess, if you don't know your own child's birthday, you should probably get on that and learn more about your kids. Now you all know, if I ever see you when we're old, and you don't know your kid's birthday, you will receive a swift kick to the buns.

Challenge of the day: Learn something new about your friends.

So, I totally forgot to post about this before, but better late than never right? On Monday Rachel and I had to do a project for US history. Our assignment was to write a 5 day journal about what a cowboy's life would be like while moving west after the Louisiana Purchase. I still think this is weird to say, but It was the most fun project I have ever done (yes, I had fun). The only thing that made it so good was simply the hilarity of all the cheesy and over dramatic things we wrote in it. There were too many things to count that we laughed about that afternoon. One of which was the SEVERE writers block I was suffering from. The last couple pages went a little like this. Please note, I was trying to come up with ideas while Rachel typed what I thunk up.

Ben: Ok let's start the next page. Kay, write
Today.....................................................................umm................gosh...
Rachel: Are you ok??
*giggle*.............................*silence*............
*outburst of laughter completed with vertical head tipping* HAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

That is one of MANY spells of uncontrollable laughter. I'll share some lines from the Journal that won't make any sense to you now.

  • Today was a rough day out on the trail.
  • I think it’s somewhere along the west coast, but I’m not quite sure. None of us are.
  • In other news, I noticed a cute cowgirl from the wagon train. She’s not the dainty type, but I sort of like it. She has beautiful long blond hair, usually in two braids that sway from side to side when she laughs. I don’t really know her well but I’m going to try and strike up a conversation one of these days, hopefully sooner than later. I think her name might be Jenny. I hear she plays a mean fiddle. I like the fiddle.
  • After the serious business, Jenny played a boot-tappin’ tune that calmed the nerves of the cowboys and gave us all a smile. We all ate well tonight. The potatoes and buffalo meat were delicious and a soul warming treat. Tomorrow is a big day.
  • Today started off as a good day....
  • She had a look of terror on her face and she was holding her leg. I looked at it and saw two small holes from which blood slowly seeped.
This would probably be the highlight reel of the journal if there was one. I hope you enjoyed it. You probably won't understand.

Thank you for your time. Remember the challenge. Better your life will be, follow my challenges you must.

ESPECIALLY at that part.
Oh, and also, I think I was the one with severe writers block. That always exists. Because I only wrote two lines in that whole thing....i think. but i'm not really sure....none of us are.
